As a trusted partner to Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Department of Defense (DoD), and other Federal and International customers, our firm manages global health programs and translational life science research on therapeutics and infectious diseases including COVID, Ebola, Malaria, Nipah, and Zika, among others.

Public Health Programs

Culmen partners with U.S. Government Agencies, U.S. States, Foreign Governments, and public and private sector partners to strengthen the effectiveness in preventing, detecting, and responding to emerging infectious

disease threats. This includes strengthening the country’s defenses against public health

threats stemming from animals and developing multidisciplinary networks of professionals

that work across the human, animal, and environmental health interface. Furthermore,

Culmen, and our partner organizations, support the development and implementation of

information management systems and surveillance to improve disease reporting and

response; implementation of zoonotic disease surveillance; and enhancement of biosecurity

facilities.

Culmen is currently managing the CDC-funded Ebola response efforts in the Democratic

Republic of Congo by providing professional and technical staff, laboratory equipment and

personnel, and training for local staff. We manage two zoonotic surveillance programs for the U.S. CDC in the Latin America region as part of the response to the ZikaV epidemic and supported CDC emergency response to ZikaV in eleven countries.  Culmen supported one of the largest HHS/CDC-funded COVID-19 Study programs in the country, making Culmen one of the fifteen largest COVID-19 contractors supporting the U.S. Government. We are a prime grantee under the CDC-funded Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) providing acute febrile illness (AFI) surveillance and laboratory capacity building and operations in Kenya and Tanzania.

applications through biomedical innovation, clinical trials management and more.

 

Project Success Stories

Culmen currently supports all the U.S. Navy Medical Research Unit INDO Pacific funded

research programs in eight countries across the Asia region by providing clinical research support, professional SMEs, and technical staff. We all provide all staff and logistics for NAMRU-SOUTH across Latin America and the Caribbean and NAMRU-EURAFCENT across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Culmen supports the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) Experimental Therapeutics (ET) branch in their discovery and development of globally impactful medical countermeasures for military-relevant infectious diseases and operational environment stressors.
